My 3 month old puppy sleeps a lot, is afraid to pee outside when it is dark. What can I do?

He eats a little, but not very much. Enjoys treats, will eat when handed food, but will barely eat on his own. He drinks water like crazy though. I'm not sure if he is just lazy or if there is something wrong with his bones, but he doesn't like to sit up straight or walk very much. He just sits around and sleeps. Is there something wrong with him?My 3 month old puppy sleeps a lot, is afraid to pee outside when it is dark. What can I do?
take him to the vet. if he's not eating and is drinking a lot, thats a bad sign. I dont remember which disease it is, but its not a good sign. take him to a vet as soon as possible.

note: those are signs of Leptospirosis. This can be helped will minimal treament; however, you must take your puppy to the vet in order to figure out whether it is lepto and what you should do.
hes just bored get him a friend then u will see he will start playingMy 3 month old puppy sleeps a lot, is afraid to pee outside when it is dark. What can I do?
this is because he is a puppy. puppy sleeps abt 8 hrs a day so dun have to worry but must try to ask the puppy to eat more of his daily meals rather keep feeding on treats,

try to buy the nutritional powder of beef flavour for him as it is easier for his system to absorb.
not a vet or pro pet person had many cats n dogs was very poor maybe worms?
Don't baby the dog. Leave food down for 20 minutes three times a day. If the puppy hasn't touched his food in those 20 minutes, simply pick up the food and take it away. Eventually the puppy will learn that he should eat the food when it is offered. If instead, you start worrying and fussing over his not eating food, he will wait longer and longer to eat, just to see what else you will do for him. My puppy wouldn't eat food out of a bowl and would only eat when hand fed, but now she has learned to eat on her own. Be assertive and try not to baby him! It's hard because they ARE like babies, but you have to be tough to be a leader to them.
I would take him to your vet ASAP. Continue and provide constant companionship, showing your puppy that you are his master, and you care and support him. Definitely get medical attention.
They don't sit up straight at 3 months, they are all "gangly" and look really silly.

He doesn't like the food, or he wasn't weaned properly and doesn't like eating from a dish or bowl. Put the food on paper, not in a bowl or plate just for a while, til he figures it out.

They all sleep a lot, they are growing as they sleep.

Mine sleep constantly, then wake up and drive me nuts running around, then "crash" asleep again.

Peeing at night... he's scared, you'll have to use paper at night for a while, take him out even if he doesn't pee so eventually he will.

Don't worry, he'll be fine.
From what you describe I would say yes, you have a problem of sorts. Maybe kidneys or diabetic. I hope you can find a good homoeopath and use lots of natural products. He may need chopped cranberries in his food and parsley (raw). The fact he drinks lots of water is not a good sign, unless you feed him dried food only, which means an equal of 80% water. 12 weeks is young and he should be running around when not sleeping. I do not know the breed, but he may be grief stricken over the fact he lost his siblings and his biological Mum. Does he sleep alone in the kitchen? This could bring on trauma, shock and stress. Remember you have a baby and in need of much care.

I'm not giving you the obvious answers, am sure you will get those from other posters. Just things to consider. I have a section on puppies on my website, I hope you can find something useful in there. If you need further assistance, you can communicate to me directly. Good luck.
its okay if he sleeps he is just a puppy so it is okay but eating but the eating and drinking part bring him to the vet.
