Dog driving me crazy with chewing!!?

Ok so i have two dogs Sam and Milo. Sam is older and more well behavied and we had him first(about 6-8 months.) Milo came along and was adjusting very well. We crate trained him just like Sam when he was a puppy. We got rid of the crate as he got older. When we came home after him being left out he had DESTROYED my house. CHEWED everything he could get his teeth on. I ended up investing in a pen for both dogs to spend there time (out of trouble) and not crated up so they could be together. The problem is that Milo still chews anything and everything even inside the pen. He will pull down dish rags, chew up the garbage bag plastic that hangs out, Shoes next to the door, and anything he can get ahold of! I have tryed putting bones and toys and beds in there all chewed up and still destructive chewing. He is a very good dog when home with someone. This is only chewing destruction when left alone with Sam. My goal is to have both my dogs behave in my house alone. How do i get to that point? I have been patient with Milo but he is driving me crazy!Dog driving me crazy with chewing!!?
You're on the right track.

The problem is, you're thinking too small. You got just 1 bone/toy. You need 15 - 20 or more. Go back to the pet store and a large variety of toys in a variety of materials. Give him 5 a day and rotate them so he always sees new toys.

Exercise him more. Tired dogs don't chew. Perhaps getting up 1 hour early and going for a run before they need to be penned up?

Kong is your friend. Get a bunch of them, fill them up, freeze them (so they last longer) and only give them when you leave.

Same with those toys that dispense food when the dog rolls them around.

Patience, patience, patience. It can take a year or more to get a dog to the point where they're trustworthy alone. Some never get to that point.

Cheers.
get him some raw pig feet and freeze them. Kong toy, stuff with can food and freeze over night.

Let that be his food for the day (if you go the kong route). It should keep him busy.

Baby proof the area. Teach him to leave things alone. I linked a video to a trainer that I enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZCIeEUm_鈥?/a>Dog driving me crazy with chewing!!?
I've heard that giving a dog knuckle bones can distract them and keep 'em busy. Maybe give him some old unwanted shoes that he can chew on. Or you can just put him outside for a while once he chews up stuff as punishment. Good Luck!!!
exercise, give him edible chew toys (kong - with PB inside, marrow bones...) or spray everything around him with a smell he hates. My dog LOVES bitter apple but my friends is honestly scared of it!
Sounds like he needs more exercise and he's bored. You don't say what breed Milo is, some have much higher requirements for activity and mental stimulation.
Crate him with a safe chew toy: a big Kong or original Nylabone.
How old is he? You may just need to give him some chew toys!
this is a very hard one. it could be that they are irritated or frustrated with something. chewing over 6 months old is quite often a sign of boredom. or it could be that they are trying to play. separate the two of them for a day and see what happens. go to the park with just one, take some toys with u and c if they behave the same way as they do together. also try filling up a 1 litre bottle with water, freeze it and then give it to them to chew on. that should do the trick
depending on your dogs breed, he may have different brain simulations.

But you should try getting a toy where you put a treat inside of it to keep him busy.

a trick i have for chewing is take a dish rag (you don't like), and run it under hot water.

then put a good sized glob of peanut butter in the inside center of it and twist the corners together. then , freeze your rag. and let your dog chew on it. it will keep him occupied and if you do it multiple times he will learn to just want to chew on very cold items.
