If Some supermodels "don't eat" then how are they not complete skin and bones?

Alright so models are skinny but there not skeletons or a bag of bones, and from the research I've done have of the people on this website say that supermodels barely eat anything or that their anorexic. I'm just a little confused on how these models aren't dying and don't look as sad and terrible as these poor victims of anorexia. Yes we may all agree many runway models are extremely thin but they are bigger then some skeleton like humans. No disrespect at all because I myself have been suffering with some eating issues but will someone please let me know why there not super crazy disgusting skinny? Thank you for your time. And please don't say oh they where born that way because I've done the research and yes they where skinny when they first started but they eventually get caught up in the critique and comments. Thanks again. If Some supermodels "don't eat" then how are they not complete skin and bones?
I read a news story once about four supermodels who decided to "pig out" and have a hamburger. It turned out that the four women actually split a single hamburger four ways. And that, for them, was "pigging out."

I would say that it's a combination of genes and diet. Some people have smaller frames than others; we're not surprised when some women are five feet tall and others are six feet, so we shouldn't be surprised that some women have slight builds and others more sturdy ones. And even if you're very thin, if you're "big boned" you still won't have a model's figure. "Skinny" for me is a size six, not a size zero ("peasant stock"!).
I don't blame the models, I blame the industry who label women of average weight in the modeling world as "plus size models". If they would just hire more women of average size then maybe so many girls wouldn't have a disorder. If Some supermodels "don't eat" then how are they not complete skin and bones?
many models were born with genes that make most of the fat on their bodies go to their breasts or butt and so they dont look like theyre starving...but they are......i dont find them attractive at all in the body and in sure most boys would agree.
It's called an "expression."

.......
Being anorexic is not categorized by being at a certain level of scary skinny.. rather, it is based on an unhealthy relationship with food, and a very restrictive diet. A restrictive diet could mean different things for different people, so you cannot judge someone solely by appearance to determine if they suffer from an eating disorder or not.

Saying supermodels 'don't eat', however, is just an exaggeration or expression, obviously not literal!! There have been models who have died from anorexia, which is why there is pressure on the fashion world to hire models that maintain a healthier weight.

Perhaps it's just your perception that runway models are not extremely skinny? I think many of them are...
Renee, you should never lie or defame any innocent person just to make youself look good. No models I have met personally are on drugs, and they eat full meals. They are not prostitutes. They are not airbrushed to no end. They were born for a certain look, and they have been chosen for it. They aren't as stuck-up and opinionated as you. You deny the fact that there are naturally thin women on earth. There is no need to revert to age 5 and pick on anyone different than you. There's no need to be such a condecending, rude, irrational and stereotype-supporting shard of a human being.

To the asker, not all models are skinny or anorexic.
All the "super models" actually do eat, just very sensibly and a lot less than you or I. They spend all their time working on their appearance and do a lot of exercise with specific exercises for various parts of their bodies. It is the next rung down from super models where the issues are. Many of those girls really do run all day on black coffee and cigarettes. But they're young, and the abuse they put their bodies through just hasn't shown up yet and taken its physical toll.

PS - is your question specifically about vegetarian and vegan models?
They eat, but not very much. You don't have to be all bones to be anorexic. There are degrees and levels to the severity of the disease, and most anorexics do eat, it's just not that often and something incredibly low on calories like plain lettuce or celery. But when you starve yourself, any calorie that passes your lips will cause you to gain weight because your body goes into starvation survival mode. It holds on to every calorie it can, so eating even practically nothing causes minor weight gains, leading to eating even less. The worst way in the world to be skinny is by starving your body.

They don't look haggard and sunken because they have a team of makeup artists to fix them up before shows. Many of the skinniest models DO look sunken and unhealthy and even waxen, but it is hard to tell under gobs of makeup.

A lot of models also take drugs to control their appetite and speed up their metabolism. They may eat healthily enough but have other things they're doing to keep the weight off.

And, a lot of models work really really hard to stay that thin. They work out every day for hours. It's not easy to remain tiny if you are not naturally tiny (yes, some people cannot gain weight no matter how hard they try, but they are not the norm).
