Without religion, will crazy people still do crazy stuff or is religion the main motivator for them?

Is religion for crazy people like bullets for a gun? A gun without bullets can still be used as a weapon, but it can only bash skulls and break bones. However, put bullets in the gun and it becomes a weapon that can kill multiple people in a short amount of time. Is this similar to what religion is for crazy people? Crazy people without religion are still violent and dangerous, but they can't harm very many people. But crazy people in religion can fly planes into buildings, spread panic throughout society with doomsday nonsense and urge followers to drink poison Kool-Aid, right?Without religion, will crazy people still do crazy stuff or is religion the main motivator for them?
Those are madmen who MISUSED people's faith for their own demented purposes.

Religion is not unlike a gun, in that by itself, it does not harm anyone. It is only harmful in the hands of those who seek to do others harm by any means at their disposal.
Perhaps, but actually most religions forbid acts of terrorism. In any case the person who is "crazy" already has a predisposition for doing something harmful. If it is not religion, it will be for something other reason.

Mainstream religion doesn't tell its followers to cause destruction. What your thinking about is cults and mind control.Without religion, will crazy people still do crazy stuff or is religion the main motivator for them?
Religion is an accuse. If a frog kills a fly, did the the big frog tell him too? Whats a teacher gonna say if i say, I didn't do my homework, why? , cause me god said don't do it, play on the computer. O.O
Someone said, "Bad people do bad things, and good people do good things, but it takes religion for good people to do bad things"
Most paranoid schizophrenics focus more on the Government and clandestine agencies like the CIA rather than religion these days.
You sound Crazy yourself!!!! Focus on what you need to do to have a personal relationship with JESUS!! Don't focus on religion because it truly wont get you anywhere!!!
"Is religion for crazy people like bullets for a gun? "

A fair analogy.
And to be fair, the drink they served in Jonestown was Freshie, not Kool-Aid.
You just need to look at North Korea, Myanmar, China and the old USSR to see how wrong you are. Stalin killed on the order of 70 million of his own people. North Korea is the most brutal totalitarian dictatorship on earth just now. Myanmar is a sewer where there is a bounty paid for every Christian killed by the population. Mao's Chinese revolution merely killed 50 or so million folks in the first few years. All of these individuals, and their governments, were built around an atheistic state. Without the moral and ethical restraint of the religions you're so quick to criticize, the greatest loss of human life in the history of our planet can be solely blamed on atheistic principles.

Honestly, don't they teach you guys history at school? This is why I liked the internet more when it was only for geeks and college students. How the hell did you manage to become old enough to type without learning about the Communist revolutions of Russia and China? And, God almighty, it's not like we're just talking about history. North Korea and Burma are in the news all the time. Don't you ever read a paper or open a book?

Anyhow, congratulations on being a perfect example of how it's better to stay quiet and possibly look ignorant, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Consider the old USSR -- a completely atheist country. They did a whole lot of crazy stuff -- religion has nothing to do with the craziness that we humans mete out to each other.

The east bloc countries alone -- which were admittedly ATHEIST -- are responsible for the death of close to 100 million (20 million at the lower end) people during the 20th century, and not to mention numerous -- countless -- human rights violations. KoolAid Jones couldn't hold a candle to the carnage and fear that atheism had wrecked on humanity for pretty much the whole of the 20th century.

So, no, religion has definitely killed people, but a few hundreds at a time, maybe even thousands, never millions...
