why dose he keep chewing up pillows . blanket . stuff toys .
he a year old i dont know how much more i can take
hes a peeapoo he is cute but a pain in the butt
hes destroying my home.he dose have chew toys and bonesHelp my dog is crazy?
Crazy!!? Then, quick, tie him up in a white straight jacket, call the nearest asylum, and have him put away before he hurts somebody! Also keep him away from alchoholic drinks. I do the same thing when I'm drunk.
cage him put him in a secure area in your houseHelp my dog is crazy?
a lot of dogs are like that. take him to a training class or obedient class
Do you crate him when you are gone? Dogs that are crate trained are not being punished in the crate. They are animals that like to have dens and the crate can do it for them. His destructive behavior can be a way of showing you he is anxious when you are gone. Does he do it when you are there? Then he needs to go to obedience training. Good luck.
Thats what puppies do........pop his butt when he does this...let him know thats not something to be doing..........
its just a thing puppies do. they do it when they are teething. one thing you may have to do is get a muzzle for the dog. some dogs never stop chewing. what generally makes them do it is if their teeth or gums hurt they chew to make them feel better. it doesn't matter what it is they chew on.
welcome to dog parenthood. You have a puppy going through his "crazy" period. He needs constant supervision and reinforcement (i.e. take away inappropriate chew and replace with good chew)...if necessary, crate him when he is unsupervised and tether him to you (with a leash) when you are working around the house. This should help train him quickly...you must be consistent at all times. He is not a bad dog. Also, if he is teething (although he should be too old for that), try frozen washcloths or ice cubes. Most likely, this phase will pass.
if he sleeps on your bed you should get him a dog bed then hell get used to it and then he wont go on your bed a destroy it but with toys keep them somewhere he cant get like a closet
when you are home correct him for this behavior. when you are not home put him in a cage, at least until this repetitive destructive cycle is broken.
Put your dog in a crate when you can not watch him. It is normal for animals to chew things. You may try at your local pet food mart. They sell some spray to keep dogs from chewing things, I forget what it's called. Give them a ring. LOL
Bring him to training class. If you can't afford it get a book on how to do it yourself.
he is not crazy. he is bored. the chew toys are not enough. play with him everyday or get another dog to play with him. he needs to get tired. godd luck. i had a dog with same problem
Ha, my dog is crazy too. But not that kind of crazy. You should just put him in a place where he can't destroy anything when he starts. Eventually he'll learn not to do it. I'm guessing.
put him outside.
Years ago, my family's dog would take our slippers and shoes and chew them up and put them under the house!
For each destoyed slipper, my father would put the slipper in the dog's mouth, and slap him with the other side of the pair. The dog slowed down these actions and eventually stopped.
Your dog is so young!! Practically still a puppy. Still has tons of energy!! Try taking him on a walk, playing with him, and just spending time with him. He might be bored. And just keep all the stuff you don't want him to chew away from his reach. It's called puppy proofing the house.
their could be lots of reasons he is doing this... Is it when you are gone? when you are their? What kinda toys does he have? does he do anything else wrong? If he is doing it while you are gone then it could be seperation anixiety or he is just plain board. or that he has no structure. If he does it while you are their its cause he is acting dominet. Is he fixed? Also if he only has hard toys he may like chewing on something soft. try giving him a stuffed animal. Remember you cant punish him unless you catch him in the act and if you do catch him simply say no in a stern voice and give him something that he can chew on and tell him good boy when he takes it. Also keep in mind most dogs arent mature untill around 2yrs old so he is in the teenage stage. right now. Also invest in a crate or kennel. when you are gone put him in their for his own safty and the saftey of your beliongins.
Best of luck
my dog used to the same thing until i couldn't put up w/ buying my mom new pillows every time he chewed or tore a hole through the pillow so i would hit his nose and he knew that that was wrong after a month or two!
She is crazy! I don't know what to tell you!
Your dog is NOT crazy, he is just young. I would recomend training him not to chew up pillow and stuff. If you catch him chewing something he shouldn't, take it away and say "no" then right away give him something he is allowed to chew and praise him when he chews it. Also he might just have too much energy, take your dog for a walk at least 3 times a day (a morning, afternoon and evening walk). if you can't walk him have a long play session with a toy he is allowed to chew or get a friend to walk him. Lastly, he might be bored with the chew toys he has. If your dog isn't playing with them, take them away for a little bit, then give them back so it will seem like a brand new toy to him.
You should crate train him so that he is always under your supervision when he's out of the crate. That way you will always be able to catch him in the act.
aw,c/mon...THINK...crate the little mutt unless under DIRECT supervision!!
Like a small child, dogs teethe. Usually, this is why they chew up things. The problem is that they cannot differentiate between what is theirs, and what is not. To correct this problem, you should consider removing items of value from within the dog's grasp, and giving the dog a place to call his/her own, such as a crate. If they tear up materials in the crate, they will still be placed into it, and be much more uncomfortable. If the dog does not outgrow the problem in the next six months or so, it could be a sign of other problems, so you should consult with your veterinarian. Good luck. I've been where you are at before.
it seems your 1 yr old baby is pamppured with lotsa luv , but the descpline comes first otherwise he will let you down ,infront of family and friends, get him trained for basics thingsand try to make him discplined by trananing
Put your dog in a crate during the day when you are away. Take him out and play with him when you get home, My dogs get 1 hour of play everyday after dinner. My dogs wait patiently until 6 pm. but my lab has become a model citizen. she never chews or destroys anything. I was told when dogs do destructive things, they are just board. Play with your dog the same time every day, get him some run time. I bet the bad behavior goes away. but keep him safe in a crate during the day
good luck
Punt him off a bridge.
